Karachi Slush’D returned for its third edition, uniting over 500 entrepreneurs, professionals, investors, and students from across Pakistan’s growing startup ecosystem at the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park in Karachi on May 17.. An iteration of the global Slush event that transformed Finland’s startup landscape, this year’s theme for Karachi Slush’D, Builders’ Generation, highlighted the resilience and resourcefulness of founders shaping Pakistan’s future.
The event kicked off with an opening note by Jehan Ara, Founder and CEO of Katalyst Labs, who highlighted the necessity of building in the current economic climate and emphasized that entrepreneurship is the most powerful way to change the world. She reminded the audience that the need to innovate, build and scale has never been more urgent than it is now. The event comprised speaker sessions and panels that focused on what matters most to founders today. Over 50 noteworthy individuals spoke during the day and five startups had the opportunity to showcase their businesses.
Topics were as diverse as the growing influence of AI to automation through agents, the need for more Angel investors in the country, the increasing trend of community spaces and market places, the huge market potential for the Electronic Vehicle industry during a time of trade deficit and the need to internalise energy efficiency and adapt to sustainable solutions. The democratizing of media in the new age of information access was another topic that was discussed by a panel of players representing some of the new platforms that have emerged.
The product demos at Slush’D Karachi 2025 showcased emerging innovations from Pakistan’s startup ecosystem, offering a glimpse into the future of tech-driven problem solving. From Bookmyspot simplifying salon booking, to TB-AI leveraging artificial intelligence for medical diagnostics, each demo presented practical, scalable solutions. Haprow and Testtrick addressed learning and training accessibility through software and robots, while Asani is making the average Pakistanis problem a thing of the past through utility management systems.
Alongside the panels, speaker sessions and product demos, the event also featured “Networking Nexus”, a space that brought together founders and professionals to exchange ideas and share experiences with each other.
This edition of Karachi Slush’D reaffirmed the city’s role as a growing hub for technology and entrepreneurship. It provided a platform for emerging startups to connect, learn and scale despite the challenges of today’s market.
In a market like Pakistan, where untapped potential exists, events like Karachi Slush’D can create room for collaboration and growth in a developing ecosystem.
The success of Karachi Slush’D is reflective of the growing momentum of Pakistan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. In these trying economic times, Karachi Slush’D provided a spirit of
collaboration and innovation, shining a much needed light on the resilience and dedication of the Pakistani entrepreneur.
